ARAPAHOE, Nebraska -- Elaine May Warner, 82, died Monday (Oct. 14, 2013), at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.

She was born Oct. 14, 1931, at Holdrege, Nebraska to Lester and Irma (McCoy) Gregg. She grew up at Gosper, Nebraska. She attended school at a country school in Gosper County and then graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1949. She married Ivan Duane Warner on Jan. 1, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska. They farmed and ranched south of Edison, Nebraska. In 1992, they retired from farming and moved to Arapahoe.

She helped start the Progressive 4-H Club of Edison and was a leader for many years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, LWML, and worked at the Mission Mall in Arapahoe.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; sister, Beverly Reiss; brothers-in-law, Leland Reiss and Robert Thayn, mother and father-in-law, George and Violet Warner.

She is survived by children, Douglas Warner and Dale Warner, both of Kearney and Melodie Stewart and husband, Ronnie Jr. of Loomis, Nebraska; brother, Darrell Gregg and wife, Ruth of Bertrand, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Wesley Warner and wife, Janet of Edison, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Cleetis Thayn of Arapahoe, Jackie Reiss of Wilcox, Nebraska; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services are Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with Rev. James Moshier officiating. Interment will be at the Arapahoe Cemetery.

Viewing and visitation is Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Arapahoe, and prior to the service at the church.
