OMAHA, Nebraska -- A horror film gaining popularity and being considered for worldwide release features special effects created by McCook native Ben Garcia's Wetworks SFX Studios in Omaha.

The film, "M is for Make Believe," part of "The ABC's of Death2," moved into first place from among 100 films in online polling overnight.

The studio specializes in horror makeup for film, television and other media.

"We have several films in the can, some in production and some in preproduction," Garcia said.

"We are super busy right now plus traveling the horror movie conventions. I wrote a short that was chosen for the spotlight section at The Prairie Lights Film Festival in Grand Island. I'll be doing a Q&A while I'm there talking about my film and a feature length film called Remission that is premiering that weekend, my company was hired to do some specific SFX (special effects) for that film."

An Omaha World Herald story and link to the film are available here.
