OBERLIN, Kansas -- Owen E. Wilson, 81, of Oberlin, died Monday (Oct. 7, 2013), at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin, Kansas.

He was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Oberlin to Andrew and Elizabeth (Schissler) Wurm.He was raised in Traer, Kansas and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army.

He was an electronics technician for the United States government and was a member of the Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Louis Wurm and sister, Alice Clark.

Survivors include children, David (Shelley) Wilson of Springfield, Oregon, Ted Wilson of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Valerie "Valli" (Dale) Sugden of Portland, Oregon; sister, Mabel Zimmerman of Oberlin; and nine grandchildren,

Graveside services are Thursday Oct. 10, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the Oberlin Cemetery with David Wilson officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery,

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. and Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home in Oberlin.
