BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- Lela Leora Stubbs, 100, of Beaver City, died Saturday (Sept. 28, 2013), at Beaver City Manor.

She was born June 11, 1913, on a farm near Beaver City to Bert A. and Grace (Gilchrist) Goosic.

She and her family lived in the Beaver City area except for a couple of years they lived near Wilsonville, Nebraska. She married Wesley William Stubbs on July 3, 1931, at Beaver City. To this union one daughter was born, Alice Marie. They farmed at various locations in Furnas County, Nebraska. They retired from farming in 1972 and moved into Beaver City. She continued to live at home after her husband's death in 1989, and moved to the Beaver City Manor in 2005 after a fall at home.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cecil Goosic; sisters, Theda, Beulah and twin, Lena; and daughter, Alice Wasenius in 2004.

She is survived by three grandsons, three great -grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren

Funeral services are Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City, with the Revs. Ivan and Joyce Dean officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, from 10 a.m. till 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to the service.
