McCOOK, Nebraska -- Robert Louis Purvis of McCook passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Community Hospital. He was 73 years old.

Robert was born on July 31, 1940, to parents, Lewis and Nora (Wagoner) Purvis.

He was united in marriage to Teresa M. Fuentes in Minden, Nebraska. They settled in the McCook community where Robert was a truck driver. He later worked as a Red Willow County Fairgrounds Maintenance Supervisor until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Nora Purvis; and son, Christopher Purvis.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Purvis of McCook; son, Victor Purvis and wife, Brenda, of Manassas, Virginia; daughters, Cynthia and husband, Thomas Arterburn, of McCook, Terri Ann and husband, Julius Madison, of Omaha; daughter-in-law, Kathleen and husband, Mark Eiler, of McCook; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and loving dog, Buzz.

Memorials may be given in his name to the McCook Community Home Health and Hospice.

Robert's wish was to be cremated. There will be a private family inurnment.
