PALISADE, Nebraska -- Peggy Jane Hoskovec of Palisade passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. She was 62 years old.

Peggy was born on Nov. 23, 1950, at Columbus, Nebraska, to parents, Paul Daniel and Gladys Marie (Blaser) Donoghue. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1969. She continued her education at Platte College in Columbus graduating with a LPN degree in nursing.

On July 10, 1971, she was united in marriage to Michael Edward Hoskovec in Duncan, Nebraska. To this union four children were born. They made their home in several locations throughout Nebraska, eventually settling in the Palisade community. Peg was employed as a nurse at the McCook Clinic for the past 13 years. She was dedicated to her work and had an excellent rapport with her patients as well as her peers.

Peggy loved the freedom of the outdoors, where she spent much of her time camping, fishing, and hunting with her family. She loved collecting frogs, owls and wolves. She was an avid NASCAR and Nebraska Husker fan. Other interests of hers included listening to polka music, dancing, watching old western movies and her cats and dogs. She loved to talk and tell stories. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her mother, Gladys Donoghue.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Mike Hoskovec of Palisade; daughter, Michelle Hoskovec and significant other, Chris Schmidt, of Columbus; sons, Mitch Hoskovec and wife, Sarah, of Imperial, Troy Hoskovec and wife, Julie, of Enders, and Todd Hoskovec and wife, Gayle, of Akron, Colorado; her father, Paul Donoghue of Duncan; brothers, Larry Donoghue and wife, Deb, of Monroe, Mike Donoghue of Fremont, John Donoghue and wife, Susie, and David Donoghue and wife, Tracy, all of Duncan; nine grandchildren, Shailyn, Lizzy, Sam, Rachel, Trey, Tristen, Sierra, Colby and Kalli; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, 4-8 p.m. CT at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences to the family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, 10 a.m., CT, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will follow in the Palisade Cemetery.

Carpenter Breland Funeral Home of McCook is in charge of the arrangements.
