Antique auction to benefit McCook Humane Society

Annette Irwin of Omaha, formerly of McCook, will sell furniture from her father Otto Nilsson's apartment house in McCook at an estate sale Friday and Saturday, Sept, 6 and 7, through the north (alley) doors of the two-story brick building at 417 West B in McCook. Annette will donate the proceeds of this sale to the McCook Humane Society, which she will add to the proceeds from a garage sale of her father's miscellaneous collections in early August.

McCOOK, Nebraska -- Annette Irwin of Omaha, formerly of McCook, plans an estate sale -- the proceeds of which she will donate to the McCook Humane Society -- on Friday and Saturday, Sept, 6 and 7, at the Rutt Building, 417 and 419 West B, in McCook.

The estate sale will be dominated by furniture, such as a hardwood dresser and round oak dining room table with claw feet and chairs.

The sale will also include a full-size brass bed, mattress and box springs; blue upholstered glider rocker and blue upholstered rocker recliner; bunk beds (no mattresses) and an ornate king-size headboard with twin mattresses; an oval wooden kitchen table and chairs; and a set of massive wooden-frame plaid-upholstered couch, love seat and rocker.

Other items are matching/coordinated square oak coffee table and end table, a (very heavy, but on casters) console record player, bookcases and a set of eight royal blue upholstered dark-wood dining room chairs.

The sale will be Friday, Sept. 6, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., and Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Early birds will pay double. Cash only; no checks will be accepted.

Enter the Rutt Building through the blue doors on the north side of the building, in the alley between West B and West C ... or a half-block east of McCook Christian Church ... or a half-block southeast of the new McCook city offices, fire and police department ... or a half block west of the Kugler Company and American Electric ... or across B Street north of the former Automotive Sales and Service building and in the alley on the north.
