ATWOOD, Kansas -- Lillie M. Solko, 100, died Saturday (Aug.17, 2013), at the Good Samaritan Center in Atwood.
She was born July 18, 1913, to Henry Undone and Christina Josephine (Burk) Lintner at the farm northwest of Atwood
She was a homemaker and farm wife. She attended Rawlins County High School.
She married Raymond C. Solko on June 6, 1939. They lived on a homestead north of Atwood where they farmed. They later moved to Atwood.
They received the Banker's Award and the Goodyear Award in 1974, both from the Rawlins County Conservation District. They also were recipients of the Monarch Club Award from Thomas Moore Prep Endowment Foundation in 1982.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and of the FCE Happy Hour Club for 50 years.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; sisters, Etta Harper, Ethel Reuber and Rosie Reuber; and one nephew and one niece.
Survivors include her brother-in-law, Charles Solko and wife, Pat of Aurora, Colorado; sister-in-law, Irene Solko of McCook and many great- nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with Rev. Nick Parker officiating. Interment is at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Vigil and rosary is 7:30 p.m Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home in Atwood.
Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Church and Mount Calvary Cemetery.
