DANBURY, Nebraska -- Dalana "Dee" Jordan, age 69, of Danbury, died at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on Aug. 10, 2013.
She was born in Walnut Creek, California, on June 17, 1944, to Floyd A. and Edith A. (Dobbs) Blankenship. Dee graduated high school in California.
Dee married Arthur Frank Long and to this union a son, Barry, was born. In 1986, she was married to Edward Roy Jordan in a Civil War re-enactment ceremony. The couple lived in Fort Collins, Colorado, and moved to Danbury in 1999. Dee was a skilled painter of wildlife. She and Roy enjoyed black powder shooting and re-enactment of the Civil War. They were members of the Henry Hopkins Sibley Rangers 7th Regiment of Texas. She and Roy were cannoneers owning up to eight cannons at one time. Dee was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Red Hatters Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brothers, William Franzenbach, Richard Blankenship, Gerald Blankenship and Larry Timm.
Dee is survived by her husband, Roy of Danbury; son, Barry and wife, Heather of Loveland, Colorado; three step-children, Harold of Akron, Colorado, Kathy of Fort Collins, Bobby of McCook; three grandchildren, Tiffanie, Deven and Cooper Long; four step-grandchildren; and sisters, Gail and husband, Jesse More of Viola, Kansas and Leslie Buhler of Auburn, California.
A memorial service is planned for a future date. Visitation was Monday Aug.12, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.
