Atwood man killed in wreck

ATWOOD, Kansas -- A 54-year-old Atwood, Kansas, man died in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday, July 31.

The Atwood Square Deal newspaper reports that Duain L. Hafer was westbound on County Road S northwest of Atwood at 9:59 p.m., when his vehicle went off the road to the south. Hafer over-corrected and the vehicle went into the north ditch and rolled 1 1/2 times. Hafer was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.

A memorial service for Hafer will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m., at Williams Funeral Home in Atwood.
