SELDEN, Nebraska -- Joseph Koeperich, 16, of Selden, died Wednesday (Aug. 7, 2013), at Phillips County Hospital in Phillipsburg, Kansas as the result of a vehicle accident.

He was born Feb. 8, 1997, in Colby, Kansas, to Don and Katie (Johnston) Koerperich. He was raised in Selden and was a student at Golden Plains High School in Rexford.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, CYO in Selden and Golden Plains High School National Honor Society.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard Koerperich and uncle, Bryan Lee Koerperich.

Survivors include his parents, Don and Katie Koerperich of Selden; grandparents, Sandy Koerperich of Selden and Larry and Virginia Johnston of Loomis, Nebraska; brother, Jerrit Koerperich of Selden and sisters, Jessica and Jaiden Koerperich of Selden.

Services are Monday, Aug. 12, 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Leoville, Kansas with the Rev. Mark Berland officiating. Interment is at the Selden Cemetery in Selden.

Visitation is Sunday, 1-5 p.m. at the Pauls Funeral Home in Selden and 5:30-8 p.m. at the church in Leoville. Vigil service is 7 p.m., Sunday at the church in Leoville.
