NORCATUR, Kansas -- Paul R. Hawkins, 57, of Norcatur, Kansas, died Sunday (July 28, 2013), at Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kansas.

He was born May 11, 1956, in Pisgah, Iowa, to George H. and Frances M (Dixon) Hawkins. He was raised in Iowa and Colorado. He lived in Westminster, Colorado, and moved to Norcatur in 2010. He married Astelle L. Auker on June 5, 1993, in Westminster. He was a truck driver for Hatchett Ranch.

He was a member of Ancient Order of Hibernians, Michael Collins Pipes and Drums and Jaycees.

Preceding him in death was his father, George Hawkins, and sisters, Connie Hawkins and Rita Jo Turano.

Survivors include his wife, Astelle "Babe" Hawkins of Norcatur; mother, Frances M. Wright of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; children, Sean Lockwood of Denver, Colorado, Bambi (Bill) Neal of Denver, Kate (Randy) Hoffman of Denver, Hope (Mike) DeYoung of Bozeman, Montana and Corissa (Aaron DeYoung) Stuber of Denver; brothers, Ted Hawkins and Robert (Chris) Hawkins, both of Denver; sisters, Elizabeth (Craig) Burnett of Twin Lakes, Colorado and Ann (Steve) Garrett of Lakewood, Colorado; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services are Saturday, Aug. 3, 9 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Norton with the Rev. Vincent Thu Laing officiating. Interment is at Norcatur Cemetery in Norcatur.

Vigil service is Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, 7 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Center in Norton.

There is no visitation.
