Edman Foster

March 11, 1938 - July 21, 2013

BARTLEY, Nebraska -- Edman G. Foster of Bartley passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at McCook Community Hospital. He was 75 years old.

Edman was born on March 11, 1938, in Holyoke, Colorado, to Guy Edman and Rosa Pauline (Beason) Foster. He attended school in Bartley.

On July 2, 1973, he was united in marriage to Geraldine "Geri" Robertson at Casper, Wyoming. They made their home in Bartley for the most part where Edman was employed with JD Roofing and later as a lineman for the railroad until his health prevented him from working.

He loved to spend time in his garden and yard, fishing, riding horses, and sleeping in his camper. Other interests included reading his Bible, working on antique cars, and spending time with his grandchildren and beloved dog, Chewy,

Preceding him in death were his parents, Guy and Rosa Foster; wife, Geri Foster on May 8, 2013; daughter, Emma Wise; son, Denny Jay Wise; three granddaughters, Tina and Britney Knipfel and Tyler Ann Joyce; and brother, Don Foster.

Survivors include his sons, Gary Wise and wife, Sarah, of Newtown, North Dakota, David Wise and Danny Wise, both of Bartley and Larry Garner and wife, Jackie, of Lincoln; daughters, Ann and husband, Tom Kavanagh, of Busch, Arkansas, Georgia and husband, Bob Shepherd, of McCook, Nancy and husband, Willie Knipfel, of Hampton, Iowa and Edwina and husband, Jeff Joyce, of Riggins, Idaho; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 28, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with family greeting friends from 4-5 p.m.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 29, 2013, 10 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Bales officiating. Burial will follow at the Bartley Cemetery.
