Harriette 'Jane' Krayenvenger
Dec. 12, 1933 - June 25, 2013
TONAWNADA, New York -- Harriette "Jane" Krayenvenger, beloved wife of the late Donald A. Krayenvenger, daughter of the late Harry and Maudette Taylor and dearest mother of Donna, Thomas, Michael and Gerald, passed away suddenly on June 25, 2013, in Tonawanda, New York.
Jane was born Dec. 12, 1933, in McAlester, Oklahoma. She graduated from Colbert High School in Colbert, Oklahoma, in 1952. After her marriage to Donald A. Krayenvenger on July 11, 1953, they settled in Buffalo, New York, to raise their family.
Jane always had a fondness for animals of any kind and it was common knowledge that any pet she owned would lead a pampered life. Her lifelong love of reading and poetry led her at age 45 to attend Buffalo State College to study Literature. She loved the sports of football, baseball and golf, especially when her Buffalo Bills and Oklahoma Sooners were playing. She would be decked out in her team colors and was brave enough to hang her Oklahoma signs in Nebraska.
Besides her four children, Jane is survived by her brother Robert (Dena) Taylor, Patricia (Late Jack) Taylor, her sister Billie (Charlie) Bean and numerous special nieces and nephews from across the country.
Her last 10 years of life were full and happy. In 2003 the care of her family and special angels: Betty, Belinda, Tiffany, Gloria, Amanda and Joe, allowed her to remain in her home. Special thanks are given to the staff members at the Nebraska Medical Center, Dundy County Hospital and the Geriatric Center of WNY for assisting in caring for Jane so she could lead a fulfilling life.
Graveside services will be at Elmlawn Cemetery on Monday, July 1, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Arthritis Foundation or the Red Cross Tornado Relief Fund for Moore, Oklahoma. A Memorial link will be provided for out-of-town friends and family of Jane's life at www.dengerroberstpernafuneral.com.
