Roy Nealiegh Cole

TRENTON, Nebraska -- Roy Nealiegh Cole, age 83, of Trenton, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on Tuesday June 25, 2013.

He was born south of Trenton on Oct. 22, 1929, to Jasper and Blanche (Nealiegh) Cole. He graduated Trenton School in 1947.

On June 18, 1949, he was united in marriage to Carrie Helena Baker. The couple celebrated 64 years of marriage this month. Roy was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad for more than 43 years. Roy farmed northwest of Trenton 13 miles. He enjoyed hunting with family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys and husband, William "Bud" Cemer; brother, Elbert C. Cole and a son, Donald R. Cole on Nov 3, 1985; brother-in-laws, Willis Faith and Carl Lewis.

Roy is survived by his wife, C. Helena of Trenton; son, Leonard and wife, Alberta Cole of Palisade, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lilly Faith of Torrington, Wyoming, Veda Lewis of Trenton and Louise and husband, Dan Perez of Bloomfield, Colorado.

Funeral services will be on Saturday June 29, 2013, at 10:30 at the Church of God in Trenton with Terry McCorkle officiating. Interment will be in the Trenton Cemetery.

Memorials maybe left in Roy's name to the Trenton Ambulance Squad.

Visitation will be on Wednesday evening, Thursday and Friday at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in Trenton. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
