Area students are NP Telegraph 'Academic All-Stars'
Kelsey Woitaszewski, a McCook High School graduate, Tayler Nordhausen, a graduate of Wauneta-Palisade High School and Preston Alayne Rieker, a Eustis-Farnam High School graduate, were among those honored as the North Platte Telegraph's Academic All-Stars.
Woitaszewski also earned honors from the Omaha World-Herald, in recognition of distinguished scholarship ranking in the top 4 percent of all graduating seniors in the State of Nebraska's Class of 2013.
Woitaszewski plans to attend Mid-Plains Community College and Bryan College of Health Sciences or the University of Nebraska Medical Center to study nursing. She told the Telegraph, "My goals are to complete a Master of Science in nursing to become a nurse practitioner."
Woitaszewski is the daughter of Randy and Shannon Woitaszewski of McCook.
Nordhausen, the daughter of Sunni and Chad Nordhausen, plans to attend Doane College to study history and literature.
She told the Telegraph, "I hope to one day earn a Doctorate in history and work in a museum such as the Smithsonian or in the Library of Congress.
Rieker is the daughter of Alan and Toni Rieker. She plans to attend the University of Nebraska-Kearney where she will study pre-pharmacy.
"Upon completion of my pharmaceutical studies, I plan to return to an area, similar to Eustis, to provide pharmacy care to those in need of assistance," she told the Telegraph.
