OBERLIN, Kansas --Myrtle Carman Waldo, 101, died Friday (June 14, 2013), at Good Samaritan Hosptial in Kearney, Nebraska.

She was born Jan. 23, 1912, to Jess and Chelsie (Vaughn) Bell in rural Selden, Kansas, and was raised on the Sheridan County farm.

She lived in Sheridan and Decatur counties and later moved to Oberlin.

She married Joe Carman on March 29, 1930, and after he passed away, Ralph Waldo on April 4, 1974.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Chelsie Bell; husbands, Joe Carman and Ralph Waldo; sons, Jackie, Willis and Dennis Carman; stepson, Don Waldo; brother, Victor Bell; sisters, Lucille Reed, Lois Kerr and Dorothy Bell.

Survivors include her son, Max (Veanna) Carman of Oberlin and stepson, Duane (Marilyn) Waldo of Tucson, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Peggy Carman of Hoxie; 12 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Services are Wedneday June 19, 2013, 10 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Nancy Proffitt officiating. Interment is at the Selden Cemetery in Selden.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 18, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, 8 a.m. until service time

Memorials may be given to Decatur County Good Samaritan Society and United Methodist Women
