New Cambridge facility designed to serve farmers

CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- Brad Farr doesn't have regular "hours" at his new agriculture seed and chemical warehouse west of Cambridge, Nebraska.

"We're here for the farmers," he said, sitting inside the office of "Extreme Ag Inc." figuring chemical application rates for a customer Wednesday morning. "Whatever they need, we're here."

For two years, Brad sold ag chemicals, fertilizers and seed from his farm. But in August 2012, he started construction of a new 16,000-square-foot warehouse and office that would put the business within clear view of Highway 6&34 and the Cambridge Lake Road. Brad plans to plant alfalfa in the 80 acres between the warehouse and the highway. "It'll look good -- if it ever rains," he says, with a grin.

"Extreme Ag" opened in February, ready to cater to the spring seed, chemical and fertilizer needs of area farmers and ranchers. Brad and four full-time employees sell agriculture chemicals; fertilizer and micro-nutrient packages; feed seed and grass seed; and DeKalb and NuTech corn and soybean seed.

Brad said they also wholesale chemicals, and work closely with Sides Aviation of rural Bartley for ground-rig application and Sides Aviation of Cambridge for all aerial application needs.

"We're also expanding into the North Platte area for customers' cash-and-carry chemical and seed needs." Brad said.

Soon, Extreme Ag will offer drip oils for irrigation systems and "DEF," diesel exhaust fuels for new diesel engines to meet compliance with new diesel emission regulations.
