Genealogist of the Year

Trish Collister, right, of Dwight, Nebraska, president of the Nebraska State Genealogical Society, presents Susan Doak of McCook the Genealogist of the Year award at the 2013 Annual Conference and Membership Meeting in Grand Island Nebraska. The meeting was hosted by the Prairie Pioneer Genealogical Society of Grand Island. The Nebraska State Genealogical Society offers an award to one genealogist or family historian each year for exceptional and outstanding service to his or her local genealogical society and the genealogy community as a whole. Nominations are sought from all the genealogical societies in the State. The NESGS board of directors then selects the winner from the nominations received. Susan Doak was nominated by the Southwest Nebraska Genealogical Society. A certificate of appreciation was issued for the other six nominees.
