On Saturday morning, members of Palisade's American Legion and VFW posts performed their annual duties as the color guard that led the village's Pioneer Days parade down the community's Main Street.

With George Tiller of Palisade at the wheel of the classic John Deere tractor towing the flatbed, Ray Ridlen -- also of Palisade -- rode aboard a special float that saluted area farmers during Saturday's Pioneer Days parade.
Members of Wauneta-Palisade's Class D2 state champion football squad appeared in the Pioneer Days parade, cheered on by fans on both sides of Palisade's Main Street.
