McCOOK, Nebraska -- Margaret Mary Hanna died Saturday, June 8, 2013 in McCook. She was 59 years old.
"Little Margaret" (as she was called by her family), was born April 18, 1954, on Easter Sunday, at Fort Riley, Kansas, to Mary Pauline (Gieber) and Rex I. Hanna, Jr. She moved to McCook in 2006.
Margaret lived in Grand Island for more than 30 years and worked for Delicious Foods in Grand Island for over 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Pauline; her grandparents, Rachel Pauline (Knowles) and Rex Hanna, Sr., Lela (Cummings) and John Gieber, Sr.; her aunts and uncles, Margaret Hanna Powell, Doris (Gieber) and William Ray, Leroy Gieber, Jake Gieber, Laverta (Gieber) and Harold Christopherson, Wanda (Gieber) and Roy Stehr, and best friend and roommate for more than 30 years, Janet Erickson.
She is survived by her sister, Theresa Leamon and husband, Joe of McCook; brothers, Rex Hanna III and wife, Janice of Cambridge, Nebraska; Matt Hanna of Vancouver, Washington; uncles, Robert Hanna and wife, Joanne of Allen, Texas, John Gieber, Jr. and wife Marcy of Ogden, Kansas; seven nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
Memorials may given in her name to Southwest Area Training (SWATS) of McCook at P.O. Box 582, McCook, NE 69001.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with graveside service to follow at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, also in McCook.
