McCOOK, Nebraska -- The Fox Theatre Operations and Events Committee announce the cast and crew of its first summer melodrama which will be presented in five performances during the month of June. The first performance is scheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Fox Theatre. "The Pony Expresso or The Villain Came to a Grinding Halt" is set in a coffee shop in the thriving community of Waterpit, where many people are coming to settle. The community is on edge since many community members have become sick from a mysterious illness that strikes them as they are enjoying the last drop of their favorite coffee.

Cast members for the one hour show are:

Star Bright -- Jessica Gonzales, Dee Caff -- Kathy Latta, Barb Dwyer -- JeriLynn Karr, Buck Brawn -- David Sandman, Mayor Rich Coffey -- Bryce Osterman, Sugar -- Lindi Johnson, Spice -- Joseph McCarty, Mo Cabana -- Jeremy Blomstedt, Fifi Latte -- Elise Kerchal or Chris Messinger, Doc Cappuccino -- Logan Hoyt, and Palomino Polly -- Emily Karr. We also have some technical support in Sound Effects -- Dylan Power and Lighting-Darin Karr. There may also be some surprise guest appearances.

Show director Charles Coleman says, "This is a very talented cast and they have been working very hard to perfect their melodramatic roles for Sunday's opening performance." Other performances are scheduled for June 12, 22, 26, and 30. The $5 tickets are only available at the Fox ticket booth one hour before each performance.

All proceeds go to the continuing Fox improvement project. The show delivers jokes and puns that will have the audience laughing along with the traditional "Boo's" for the villain and cheers for the hero. This is a fun-filled show that the whole family can enjoy.

The show is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service Inc. of Englewood, Colorado.
