ATWOOD, Kansas -- Velma Maxine "Mickey" (Thacther) Smith, 94, died Friday (May 31, 2013), at Good Samaritan Society in Atwood, Kansas.

She was born Jan 13, 1919, at Promise City, Iowa. She was a sales clerk and worked in daycare.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Smith, in 1992.

Survivors inlcude her sons, Bill Smith of St. Francis, and Rick Smith of Atwood; daughters, Bonnie Smith of Atwood and Lenee Seeker of Sacramento, California; sister, Ilene Spiker; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, June 10, 2013, at United Methodist church at 10 a.m. at St Francis, Kansas. Burial is 12:30 MT at the Holyoke Cemetery in Holyoke, Colorado.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Visitation is Sunday, from 1-7 p.m. at Knodel Funeral Home.
