OBERLIN, Kansas -- Evelyn Marie Olson, 93, died Tuesday (June 4, 2013), at Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberiln.

She was born March 20, 1920, in Rawlins County, Kansas, to Arthur and Ella (Cederberg) Lorenson. She was raised on a farm in Laing Township in Rawlins County and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1938,

She married Gilbert Olson on Aug. 16, 1944, in Niles, California. She was a farm wife and homemaker

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, ALCW and an extension club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ella Lorenson; husband, Gilbert Olson; brothers, Clarence, Melvin, Louis, and Reuben; and sisters, Ruby, Ruth, and Inez.

Survivors include her son, Gerald (Connie) Olson of Oberlin; daughter,Janice (Bob) Baer of Topeka; sisters, Rosella Keer of Ontario, California, and Marilyn (Max) Schell of Livermore, California; sister-in-law, Donna Lorenson of Niles, California; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, June 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Baseler officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday, 1-8 p.m at the funeral home and Monday, 8 a.m. until service time, at the church.

Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, Decatur Good Samaritan Society, and Hospice Services.
