Violet K. Martin

McCOOK, Nebraska --Violet K. Martin passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at her home in McCook. She was 93 years old.
Violet was born on April 6, 1920, in Sutton, Nebraska to parents, Charles H. and Hulda (Kern) Krieger. She attended McCook Public Schools.
On June 12, 1943, she was united in marriage to Eugene E. Martin in McCook. To this union a daughter, Selma "Sam" was born. Violet was a busy homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, ironing, and being in the outdoors. She especially enjoyed her chocolate M&M's and spending time with her family. She was an avid fan of the Lawrence Welk Show and was dedicated to attending the Alzheimer's Support Group.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Eugene Martin on Nov. 26, 1987; her parents, Charles and Hulda Krieger; and sister, Ramona Krieger.
Survivors include her daughter, Sam and husband, Marion Brunswick, of McCook; sisters, Dolorous Bush of Oklahoma, and Ardis "Artie" Harmon of Greeley, Colorado; brother, Merlin Krieger and wife, Betty, of McCook; four grandchildren, Pamela Brunswick, Tamara Clapp, Corina Fritz and Christopher Brunswick; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.
Memorials may be given in her name.
Visitation will be Thursday, May, 23, 2013, 1-8 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 24, 2013, 2 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
