McCOOK, Nebraska -- Julia G. Stone, age 87, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her home in McCook.

She was born in McCook on March 27, 1926, to Daniel W. and Emma S. (Miller) Sawyer.

Julia married Harland Stone in McCook on Oct. 23, 1954.

Julia was a member of the McCook Eagles Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and gambling.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Buck of McCook; daughter, Sandra McCants of Lordsburg, New Mexico; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harland; daughter, Gloria Brakebill; grandson, Cory McCants; brother, Lorence Sawyer; sisters, Lillia Miller and Ruby Peterson.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 28, 2013, 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Donelan officiating with inurnment to follow.

Memorials may be given in her name to the American Cancer Society.
