BARTLEY, Nebraska -- Geraldine "Gerie" Foster of Bartley passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Tri Valley Health System in Cambridge. She was 69 years old.

Gerie was born on July 1, 1943, in Menard, Texas, to parents, Edward John and Rhodie Odessa (Glover) Robertson. She attended school in Texas where she graduated from high school.

On July 2, 1973, she was united in marriage to Edman G. Foster at Casper, Wyoming. They eventually made their home in Bartley where Gerie was a care giver, delivered meals on wheels, and also worked at Fuller's Restaurant as a waitress. She had a passion for people as was evident by her loving and caring way.

Gerie was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, and gardening. She also enjoyed horses, fishing, collecting Indian memorabilia, and reading, especially her Bible.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and Rhodie Robertson; daughter, Emma Wise; son, Dini Jay Wise; three granddaughters, Tina and Briteny Knipfel and Tyler Ann Joyce; and three brothers, Travis, Roy, and James Robertson.

Survivors include her husband, Edman Foster of Bartley; sons, Gary Wise and wife, Sarah, of Newtown, North Dakota, David Wise and Danny Wise, both of Bartley; daughters, Ann and husband, Tom Kavanagh, of Bush, Arkansas, Georgia and husband, Bob Shepherd, of McCook, Nancy and husband, Willie Knipfel, of Hampton, Iowa and Edwina and husband, Jeff Joyce, of Riggins, Idaho; two brothers, Tom Robertson and wife, Joe, of Casper, Wyoming and Charlie Robertson and wife, Pauline, of Dog Patch, Arkansas; sister, Annabell Hines of Hampton, Iowa; 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 12, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with family greeting friends from 4-5 p.m.

Funeral services will be Monday, May 13, 2013, 2 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Bales officiating. Burial will follow at the Bartley Cemetery.
