OBERLIN,Kansas -- Larry Michael Long, 61, died April 3, 2013.

He was born July 12, 1951, to Donald and Shirley Long. He graduated in 1969 from Derby Senior High, Derby, Kansas. He received a BA in Art Education from Fort Hays State Universary.

He married Montine Bearley on March 11, 1973. They divorced in 1989.

He taught high school art in Sharon Springs, Kansas and in Oberlin. He also worked for Rayes Grocery Store and Winder Tree Service in Oberlin.

He was a member of Oberlin United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sister, Angela Modica and her husband, Frank; infant son, Aaron John and niece, Heidi Dirks.

Survivors include daughter, Jessica and husband, Mark Luck; two sisters, Joyce and John Bates and Joyce and Brad Dirks and four grandchildren.

Services are Saturday, May 11, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Oberlin United Methodist Church.
