BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- Evelyn Elizabeth Balderston, 95, of Beaver City, died Thursday (April 25, 2013), at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege, Nebraska.

She was born on Jan.7, 1918, at Manzanola, Colorado, to William and Clara (Johann) Torney.

The family moved to Furnas County, Nebraska where she grew up. On April 4, 1936, she married Jasper Balderston. The family resided on the farm by Hendley, Nebraska, until they retired and moved to Beaver City in 1991.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jasper; sons, Raymond, Jerry,and Ronald; daughter, Ann; brothers, Elmer, Ivan and Clarence; and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Franklin.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Balderston of Beaver City and brother, Dr. Harry Torney and wife, Helen of Carmel, Indiana

Funeral services are April 30, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Beaver City with the Revs. Ivan and Joyce Dean officiating. Interment is at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.

Viewing and visitation is today, April 29, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to the service at the church.
