David Gregory Denton

CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- David Gregory Denton, age 48, of Wilsonville, Nebraska, died at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on April 26, 2013.

He was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The family moved to Pekin, Illinois, where David grew up.

David moved to Wilsonville in 1985. He met and married "Tootie" Kruger and they made their home in Wilsonville. David worked construction and general contracting as a carpenter. He enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, trapper and hunter. He was the Assistant-Chief of the Wilsonville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Zoo Crew.

David was preceded in death by his parents; a step-daughter, Tammy Sue Hobbs; and a son, Sean Michael Denton.

He is survived by his wife, Tootie of Wilsonville; two sons, Chris of Lincoln, Nebraska and David H. and wife, Kimberly of Cambridge, Nebraska; two step-sons, James and wife, Jessica Hobbs of Cambridge and Albert Hobbs of Ovid, Colorado; brother, Charles Cobb Jr. of Pekin, Illinois; and two sisters, Susie Cyphus of Florida and Juanita Cobb of Texas.

Graveside inurnment and gathering will take place at the Wilsonville Cemetery on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at 2 p.m.
