BUTTE, Nebraska -- Memorial services for Norma J. Kisker, age 76 of Butte, Nebraska, were 6 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Butte. Pastor Harrison Goodman and Pastor David Feddern officiated, with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at McCook, Nebraska, at a later date.
Brockhaus Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
Norma died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Golden Living Center in O'Neill, Nebraska.
Norma J. (Jessen) Kisker, daughter of Walter J. and Marie (Walters) Jessen, was born Sept. 11, 1936, at Windsor, Colorado. Norma grew up around the Windsor area, where she graduated from high school in 1954. On April 14, 1956, she was married to Donald L. Kisker at Greeley, Colorado. The couple was blessed with three children: Mark, Kevin, and Stephanie.
During her working years, Norma owned Early Bird Advertiser and also was employed as a telephone operator for AT & T. In her free time, Norma was a 4-H leader, served on the District No. 8 School Board, played the organ at her church and enjoyed crafting and crocheting. She taught piano lessons, Sunday school, and confirmation classes. Norma loved her family and enjoyed her grandchildren very much.
Norma is survived by her husband, Don Kisker of Butte, Nebraska; sons, Mark (wife, Deb) Kisker of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Kevin (wife, Karen) Kisker of Ankeny, Iowa; daughter, Stephanie (husband, Keith) Mohr of Butte; eight grandsons, Matthew Kisker, Micah Kisker, Jonathan Kisker, Josiah Kisker, Levi Kisker, and Jesse Kisker, and Austin Mohr; four granddaughters, Amanda Kisker, Tawny Mohr, Kristen Mohr, and Audrey Mohr; sisters, Loretta (husband, Bob) Hirsch of Millard, Nebraska, and Twyla (husband, Merle) Macklin of Imperial, Nebraska; and nieces, Cara (husband, Darren) Hetland of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Wendy Hirsch of Lincoln, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Lyle Vasenius.
