Wilma Keiser

IMPERIAL , Nebraska -- Wilma Keiser, aged 86, of rural Stratton, died at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home on April 13, 2013.

Wilma was born Sept. 13, 1926, at the family farm in Dundy County, northwest of Stratton, to Fred and Edna (Miles) Harrison. Wilma was baptized on Easter Sunday 1927 at the Methodist Church in Stratton. Wilma attended Ashgrove grade school near their farm and Stratton High School, graduating in 1944. Wilma was a devoted family member and helped her mother care for her elderly grandparents and invalid uncle, Charles.

On Jan. 28, 1945, she was united in marriage with Raymond Keiser. To this union, one son, Lynn, was born. Wilma lived the remainder of her life on the Keiser farm one mile east of her birthplace.

Wilma had a lifelong love for animals, especially horses and cats and supported charities such as the Humane Society. She enjoyed her farm home and talking both in person and on the phone with friends and renewing acquaintances with people and talking of past experiences.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents in 1968 and husband in 1976. Also her Aunt Ruth and Uncles Virgil and Charles; and several brothers and sisters-in-law and cousins.

Survivors include her son, Lynn, sisters-in-law, Leta Brunkhorst, Edna Keiser and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wilma was a kind and loving wife and mother and a good friend and neighbor and will be missed by those she leaves behind.

Funeral services will be at the Methodist Church in Stratton on Friday, April 19 at 2 p.m. (CT) with Pastor Sheila Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at the Stratton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, 2-6 p.m.. (MT) at the Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta.

In place of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the McCook Humane Society.
