TUSCON, Arizona -- Dorothy Fern Wheeler, formerly of Culbertson, Nebraska, died Friday (March 22, 2013), in Tuscon.

She was born in Culbertson Jan. 29, 1921, to Otto and Amelia (Deuter) Schmidt, second of five children. She married Claude Wheeler in December 1942.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Claude; two brothers, Robert and Raymond and grandson, Kevin Hadley Wheeler.

Survivors include two sons, USAF Michael (Estelle) Wheeler, Midlothian, Texas, and Tim and wife, Martha Ann Wheeler of Globe, Arizona; two sisters, Eileen Wacker of Raleigh, North Carolina and Betty and LeRoy Cook of Culbertson; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
