BENKELMAN, Nebraska -- Carolyn F. Rosenfelt, 81, died Friday (March 8, 2013), at Community Hospital of McCook.

She was born in Menlo, Kansas, on Oct 4, 1931, to Ottis and Esther (Thieler) Cogdill. She attended school in Kansas.

She married Harold E. "Gene" Rosenfelt on Feb 22, 1957. They spent 20 years in the Air Force and moved back to Benkelman in 1971.

She worked in civil service, clerical, and food sales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene; daughter, Jennifer Rosenfelt; son-in-law, Gail Collicott, and nephew, Rodney Cogdill.

Survivors include her three daughters, Melinda and Larry Einsphar of Roseland, Nebraska, Jannelle and Dan Bowers of St. Francis, Kansas and Melissa Rosenfelt and Ralph Scott of McCook, Nebraska; two sons, Mark and Diane Rosenfelt, and Michael and Maria Rosenfelt, all of Benkelman; two brothers, Ronald Cogdill of Colorado and Roger Cogdill of Arizona; , sisters-in-law, Sandy Cogdill, Margaret Guidice and Liz Cogdill, 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A family reception for the public will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. (MT) at Forch Funeral Chapel in Benkelman.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 13, 2013, 11 a.m. (MT) at the Zion Lutheran Church of Benkelman, with the Rev. George Matthews officiating. A private family inurnment will occur at a later date.

Forch Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
