FORT COLLINS, Colorado -- Steve Vale Cathcart, 68, died on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Fort Collins, Colorado surrounded by family.

Steve was born in Oberlin, Kansas, on March 1, 1944, to Gwendola and Joseph Cathcart. He lived in McCook, Nebraska, while married to Beverly Cathcart and worked as a police officer, fireman, paramedic, and photographer. He was a professional photographer for the past 20 years and loved the mountains. He always spoke his mind and will be missed by all the people whose day he brightened.

He is survived by his wife of five years, Teresa Cathcart of Windsor. He lived the last 20 years in Colorado with his three children and their spouses; David (Gina) Cathcart, Aaron (Heidi) Cathcart and Lora (Rob) Hamil. He is also survived by his step-children, Gretchen and BJ. He has five grandkids, Tyler, Faith, Gillian, Alyson and Madison.

Cremation has taken place and a service was at Grandview cemetery on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.
