McCOOK, Nebraska -- Teresa Black, 49 years old, of McCook, died March 3, 2013, from her battle with cancer.

Teresa was born Aug. 26, 1963, in Lexington Nebraska, to Richard and Marlin Warta. She grew up on a farm north of Overton, Nebraska. She graduated from Overton High School in 1981. On Dec. 11, 1982, she married Troy Black from McCook and it was here they called home the first five years of their life together.

In March of 1982, Teresa was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Teresa was known as a caring person who centered her life on serving the Almighty God Jehovah. (Ps. 83:18) She spent many hours, helping others to learn the good news of the kingdom. (Matt. 24:14) The precious hope of the resurrection to a paradise earth contributed greatly to her faith. Her loving concern and pleasing personality will be greatly missed by her family, those whom she has helped spiritually and the Christian congregation.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2100 West J Street, McCook, NE.
