McCOOK, Nebraska -- Rick Allyn Davis passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Community Hospital in McCook. He was 47 years old.

Rick was born on Jan. 30, 1966, in Hastings, Nebraska to Jackie Lee and Betty L. (Poppinga) Davis. He attended school in Hastings and McCook.

He entered the US Reserves and served for his country. Rick was a mechanic and handyman of all sorts helping whoever needed his services. He also drove truck cross country for several years.

Rick was an avid fisherman. He also loved children often teaching them how to fish with much enthusiasm and patience.

Preceding him in death were his father, Jackie Davis; and maternal grandparents, Frances and Dorothy Poppinga and Bill Oberhauser and paternal grandparents, John and Laura Davis.

Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Ebert and grandson, Tucker Lee Ebert of McCook; mother and step-father, Phil and Betty Rouse of Trenton; brother, Ryan Davis and wife, Janelle, of McCook; sister, Kelly and husband, Bryan Leggott of Trenton; half-brothers, Mark Rouse of Culbertson and Tony Rouse and wife, Darcy, of McCook; step-brother, Jeffrey Rouse of Lincoln; step-sister, Sandy Rouse of Lincoln; grandmother, Bernyce Oberhauser of McCook; aunts and uncles Gene and Connie Davis of Hastings, Jim and Cathy Suit of Bozeman, MT and Barbara Lindy of Omaha; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of family and friends.

Memorials may be given in his name.

A memorial service will be held Friday, March 8, 2013, 11 a.m. at Carpenter Breland Chapel in McCook with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at a later time.
