McCOOK, Nebraska -- Geraldine Frances Anderson, age 82, of McCook, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the Community Hospital in McCook.
Geri was born on Nov. 19, 1930, at Staplehurst, Nebraska, the daughter of William H. and Dora (Graham) Hermann. She received her education in Seward and Lincoln, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1948. She then attended the University of Nebraska.
In November of 1949, Geri married Lemoine Anderson. To this union five children were born. They lived in Lincoln, Fremont, and Columbus before moving to McCook in 1958.
Geri was an avid golfer, master bridge player, and enjoyed knitting for family and friends. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, PEO, the Nebraska Women's Golf Association and the Memorial United Methodist Church.
Geri is survived by her husband of 62 years Lemoine (Andy) Anderson of McCook; daughters, Marcia (David) Buresh of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jean (Robert) Warner of Seattle, Washington, Julie Anderson and Jimmy McCarty of Elkhorn, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Brandon, Megan, Joseph and Ryan; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, and Makayla; sisters, Neva Axen of Tucson, Arizona and Reona Woodcome of Lancaster, Massachusetts; brothers, Vernon Hermann of Lincoln and William Hermann of Berkeley, California; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
Geri was preceded in death by infant son, James; son, Michael Anderson and his wife, Margaret; parents, William and Dora Hermann; sisters, LaVerne Arnold and Ione Weiler; and brother, Eldon Hermann.

No public viewing will be held.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with Rev. Lance Clay, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery also in McCook.
