JENNINGS, Kansas -- Mary Ann Votapka, 84, died Saturday (Feb. 16, 2013), at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin, Kansas.

She was born July 8, 1928, in Norton, Kansas, to Otto and Gladys (Huff) Johnson.

She attended school in Kanona and graduated from Jennings High School in 1946.

She lived on the Votapka farm four miles north of Jennings. She married George O. Votapka on Aug. 10, 1947, at her parents' farm home near Kanona.

She was a member of Jennings United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Sunflower Quilters and Al-Anon. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by parents, Otto and Gladys Johnson; husband, George Votapka and granddaughter, Krystal Hallagin.

Survivors include her son, Thomas Votapka and friend, Terri Hanke of Jennings; daughters, Sue Long of Jennings, Ann (Rex) Rowh of Cimarron, Jean Lee (Rollie) Hallagin of Goodland; sisters, Ethel Taylor of Hays; Elaine (Myron) McKinley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Setvices are Saturday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Jennings United Methodist Chutch in Jennings with Rev. Barbara Patterson officiating. Interment is at the Jennings Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Oberlin and Saturday, 8 a.m. until service time at the church.
