ELWOOD, Nebraska -- DeLilah Georgene Monter, 81, of Elwood, died Saturday (Feb. 9, 2013), at Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington, Nebraska.

She was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Gosper County, Nebraska to Theodore and Hilda (Riepe) Reese.

She attended rural school until eighth grade and graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1949. She attended McCook Community College. After teaching for five years, she married Glen H. Monter on June 12, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hilda (1939) and Ted (1979), and son, Dennis (2010).

She is survived by her devoted husband, Glen Monter of Elwood; daughter, Shirley Pierson and husband, Eric of San Diego, California; sons, Douglas Monter of Lexington and Charles Monter and wife, Julie of Aurora, Nebraska; sister, Clara Belle Tapparo and husband, Johnnie of Thornton, Colorado; brother, Eldon Reese and wife, Patty of Holbrook, Nebraska; sister-inlaw, Iva Fritz of McCook, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elwood, with the Revs. David Dobbertien and James Moshier officiating. Interment will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Elwood.

Viewing and visitation is Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Elwood Funeral Home in Elwood, and prior to the service at the church.
