Jerry Lee "'Skip" McWherter, Jr.

McCOOK, Nebraska -- In McCook, Nebraska, Jerry left us on Jan. 30, 2013, after a brief, but valiant, battle with cancer.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Lee McWherter.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Cathy Schwartz; his mother, Ann; sister, Sherry (Don) Herring; James McWherter (Christine), Daniel McWherter (Melissa) and Kevin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and three great-nieces and nephews.

Jerry was born in Sacramento, California, in 1965 and grew up in the Elk Grove, California area. He graduated from Daylor High School in 1983. Cathy and Jerry moved to McCook in 2006.

There will be a celebration of Jerry's life at the McCook Club House on Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. The Club House is located at 1012 W. Third . Enter through the south door.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
