BEAVER CITY, Nebraska -- Ruth Elizabeth Clason, 82, of Beaver City, died Saturday (Jan.12, 2013), at the Josie Harper Hospice House, in Omaha, Nebraska.
She was born on April 28, 1930, to Aldoph Oscar and Hulda Josefina Wasenius in Oxford, Nebraska.
She graduated from Beaver City High School. She taught two years at District No. 8 country school. She married Eugene Clason on June 1, 1949. They farmed southwest of Beaver City.
She and her husband built the Dairy Queen in Beaver City in 1968 and operated it until 1976. She began dispatching for Clason Trucking Company in 1979 to the late 1990s. She and her husband also bought the Sale Barn in Phillipsburg, Kansas in the mid 1980s and sold it in the late 1990s.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Allen Wasenius.
She is survived by her three sons, Steven Clason and wife, Rachelle of Beaver City, Nebraska, Jim Clason of Kearney, Nebraska and Lee Clason, of Beaver City, Nebraska; five daughters, Ruth Gove of Kearney, Patty and husband, Ross Wolstenholm of York, Nebraska, Laura and husband, Irvin Nelson of Kearney, Bonnie and husband, Michael Wright of Stamford, Nebraska and Susan Bayliss of Omaha, Nebraska; brother, Kenneth and wife, Irene Wasenius of Oxford, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Clara Wasenius of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Merle Dean Clason and wife, Juanita of Beaver City; two step-brother-in-laws, Kenneth Dean Lambert and wife, Marjory of Beaver City and Leroy Lambert and wife, Marjorie of Miller, Nebraska; 30 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Community Church, in Beaver City with the Rev. Dobie Weasel officiating. Burial will be at the Precept Cemetery in Beaver City.
Viewing is Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City and prior to the service at the church.
