NORTON, Kansas -- Thomas M. "Tom" Heaton, 71, of Norton, Kansas, died Saturday Jan. 5, 2012, at Norton County Hospital in Norton,

He was born Sept. 5, 1941, to Elmon and Nancy (Mulkey) Heaton in Norton. He attended Norton Community High School and Kansas State University.

He was a residential plumber and worked at Love's County Store in Norton,

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Heaton.

Survivors include his brother, Donald (Wanda) Heaton of Richardson, Texas and sisters, JoAnne (Steve) Taylor of Show Low, Arizona and Mary (David) Stamey of Murphy, Texas.

Services are Saturday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. at Norton Christian Church in Norton.

There is no visitation. Memorials may be given in his name.
