OBERLIN, Kansas -- Joyce C. Martin, 84, died Dec. 17, 2012, at Lakeville, Minnesota.

She was born May 24, 1928, in Oberlin, Kansas, to George and Margaret (Slocum) Gardner. She was raised in Oberlin and graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1947. She worked as the Oberlin City Clerk and at the Decatur Health Systems Dietary Dept.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Margaret (Slocum) Gardner and brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Edith Gardner.

Survivors include two sons, Rick and wife, Rosie Martin of Lakeville, Ray and wife, Anne, Martin of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and four grandchildren,

Graveside services are Saturday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Oberlin Cemetery. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Oberlin Cemetery and the Decatur County Museum.
