V. I. 'Bud' Deminski

CAMBRIDGE, Nebraska -- V. I. "Bud" Deminski age 86 of Cambridge died at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney on Dec. 24, 2012
He was born March 23, 1926, in Boelus, Nebraska to Leo and Martha (Bydalek) Deminski. He graduated from Boelus High School. He joined the US Navy in 1944 serving in the Pacific Theatre until 1946.
On Dec. 6, 1951, he married Vene DeMoss in Holdrege. He worked for more than 44 years with the Burlington Northern Railroad as a signal maintenance man. He was a member of the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department, American Legion and the Burton's Bend VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Clara Savage and Louella Thompson; one brother, Leo Deminski; one son-in-law, Randy Barber; and one brother-in-law, Vernon Ritterbush.
Survivors include his wife, Vene of Cambridge; two daughters, Jerri Barber of Indianola, Nebraska, and Kathy and husband, Jim Salts of Broken Bow, Nebraska; one son, Tracy and wife, Connie of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren.
Memorial services are at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge on Friday Jan. 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Sherry Sklenar officiaiting. Inurnment will be at Fort McPherson in the spring.
Memorial may be left to the Cambridge Senior Center in his name.
