Steven Duane Allmond

RALEIGH, North Carolina -- Steven Duane Allmond, 51, of Raleigh, went to his Eternal Home on Dec. 11, 2012. He died of an apparent heart attack/natural causes.

He is survived by his wife, Pattie Castor Allmond, and a daughter, Kaitlyn Faith Allmond, of the home; his mother, Linda Strunk, and stepfather, Allen Strunk, former publisher/owner of the McCook Daily Gazette; a brother, Greg Allmond (Joy) of Charlotte, N.C.; nephews, Andrew Allmond and Austin Allmond; stepbrothers, Harry Strunk and Grant Strunk; and one stepsister, Julie Strunk.

Steve graduated from Danville Christian School in 1979 and later attended Florida Southern University, where he received a degree in finance/accounting. He had successful careers as a certified public accountant and a custom home builder (Steve Allmond Custom Homes). He enjoyed golf and was an avid racer at Virginia International Raceway. Steve was also an active member at Crossroads Fellowship.

His most important accomplishments were his 17-year marriage to Pattie, becoming a father to Kaitlyn and faithfully loving and serving the Lord Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15 at Crossroads Fellowship, 2721 East Milbrook Road in Raleigh. Burial will follow the service in Highland Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. tonight at Brown Wynne Funeral home, 1701 East Milbrook Road in Raleigh.
