HASTINGS, Nebraska -- Hastings resident, Everette E. Korgan, 79, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, 2 p.m. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, with Pastor Tony Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society.
Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012; 5 -- 9 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, 9 a.m. -- 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is serving the family. Condolences may be sent to www.lbvfh.com.
Everette was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Hastings, Nebraska, to Joseph and Velma (Wyatt) Korgan. He graduated from Hastings High School. Everette married Mary Ann Von Kampen on April 27, 1952; they later divorced. He worked for 30 years at Dalton's Café, nine years with AAL, now Thrivent Financial for Lutherans where he retired; he also worked at Uncle Neal's on East 2nd Street. Everette had been involved in Hastings Community Theatre. He enjoyed traveling and camping, going to Branson, Silver Dollar City, West Colorado Springs, and Estes Park, Colorado. Everette enjoyed camping at Morman Island near Grand Island.
Everette was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lowell Korgan; and infant sister.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Dr. Thomas Coombe, Bismark, North Dakota, Carol and Kenneth Pralle, Wymore, Nebraska; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Kim Korgan, McCook, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and close friends.
