McCOOK, Nebraska -- Angela Marie Pape passed away Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook. She was 91 years old.

Angela was born on Nov. 12, 1921, at Alma, Nebraska, to parents Edward J. and Jessie Faye (Whitaker) Lennemann. She graduated from Alma High School in 1938. She continued her education at Creighton University in Omaha graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Angela worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Omaha and later the VA Hospitals in Colorado and Texas. She was also a busy mother of two daughters, Julianne and Janet. After her retirement she moved to the McCook community.

Angela was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed needlepoint, playing bridge and reading. She was a diehard Cub's Baseball fan and CNN enthusiast.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and Jessie Lennemann; daughter and son-in-law, Julianne and Dennis Garrett; and two sisters, Phyllis Irene Lennemann and Mary Ellen Shoemaker.

Survivors include her daughter, Janet Schaffer of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren, Aaron Garrett, Jeremy (Angela) Schaffer, Dameda (Eric) Melton, Denille Burke and Elizabeth Garrett; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Visitation will be at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, from 6 p.m. until time of rosary. Friends may send words of condolence to the family at www.carpenterbreland.com

The rosary will be recited Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral with Father Gary Brethour officiating.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, 2 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 7710 West Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska, with Deacon Steve Grandinetti officiating.
