OBERLIN, Kansas -- Lucy E. Schissler, 89, died Tuesday (Dec. 3, 2012), at Oberlin.

She was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Traer, Kansas, to Alfred Preston and Mary M. (Brown) Elson.

She married Edgar Pointer on July 29, 1943, and Clifford Schissler on June 5, 1987.

She was a homemaker and a long-time resident of Atwood, Kansas as well as of Oberlin.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Clifford Schissler in 2003; later husband, Edgar Pointer in 1958; stepdaughter-in-law, Carolyn Pointer; brother, Archie; two sisters, Pansy and Ethel; a step-grandson, Kevin Pointer; and niece, Betty Barnett.

Survivors include six step-children, Janice Schissler, of Springfield, Missouri, Terry Schissler, of Tampa, Florida, Lee nd Jackie Schissler, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jerry and Dorothy Pointer, of Elmwood, Nebraska, Susie and Sonny Weidman, of Omaha, Nebraska, and Loraine and Del Grau, of Denver, Colorado; 17 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Reuther Interment is at the Fairview Cemetery in Atwood, Kansas.

Vistation is Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. and Thursday until service time at Pauls Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church in Atwood or Decatur County Good Samaritan Society.
