COLBY, Kansas -- Daniel C. Harris, 63, of Colby, died Tuesday (Nov. 27, 2012), at the Good Samaritan Center in Atwood, Kansas.

He was born Nov. 6, 1949, in Oberlin,Kansas, to Donald F. and Imadene "Dene" (Johnston) Harris. He graduated from Decatur Community High School in Oberlin in 1968 and attended Fort Hays State University in Hays for two years.

He served in the National Guard. He was a truck driver and worked in construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Irmadene "Dene" Harris; cousin, John Keenan and nephews, Jordan and Christopher Harris.

Survivors include son, Shane (Virginia) Harris of Oberlin; daughters, Shannon Harris of Colby and Sharee (Danny Giblin) Harris of Kansas City, Kansas; brother, Douglas Harris of Bazine; sister, Darcel (John) Roberts of Lincoln, Nebraska, and six grandchildren.

Services are Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Nancy Proffitt officiating. Interment is at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. until service time, at Pauls Funeral Home. Memorials may be given in his name.
